Before lodging a request for document delivery check to see if the item is held in the University of Notre Dame Library.

For books:

  • Search Summon
  • Check to see if it is available via a local reciprocal borrowing scheme (you may be able to get the item quicker this way)
  • Consider whether this would be a useful resource for other staff and students and make a recommendation for the Library to purchase the item using the Recommend a Title form.

For theses:

  • Search Summon
  • Search the research repository of the author's home institution

For journal articles:

  • Search Summon
  • Search for the journal by title (under the eJournals tab on our homepage)
