Prior to 2021, the University Library operated the Galvin Medical Library, which was located in the School of Medicine building on Henry Street in Fremantle (ND35 on campus map). The library opened in 2005 and held print and AV resources to support the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Physiotherapy and Health Sciences, which includes the teaching areas of Biomedical Sciences, Exercise & Sports Science, Health & Physical Education, and Preventive Health. The conversion of what was originally a warehouse & office building constructed in 1900 won a heritage award at the prestigious Fremantle and East Fremantle Heritage Awards.
As of the start of 2021, this collection of books, reference items and DVD's are available from the St Teresa's Library. The collection, which can be found on the ground floor, is now known as the "Health Collection" and is enhanced by access to electronic databases, journals and books via the University website, and library staff are available to help with study related queries from the front desk in St Teresa's Library.
The space previously known as the Galvin Library continues to be accessible to all students as a study space, and contains desktop computers and printers as well as powered desks and group study rooms. The space can be accessed whenever the building is open to students.
