Reading Lists: Guide for Academic Staff

Adding direct links in Blackboard

Once you have finished working on your list, you can also create direct links into specific sections or citations from Blackboard.

Important: In order for students to access your Reading List, they must click on the original Leganto LTI link in Blackboard before clicking on any additional links that you set up using the instructions below. If they do not click this link, they will not be able to access any part of the Reading List.

  1. In Leganto, navigate to the section or citation that you want to link to and click the ellipses menu [...] and select Create a shareable link.
  1. Click the Copy to Clipboard button and then Close.
  1. Go to Blackboard, and the folder/page in which you would like to create the link. Navigate to the Build Content tab and select Web Link.

  1. Give the link a descriptive name and paste in the Leganto link to the URL field.
  2. Click Submit.

  1. The link will now appear on your page, and will take students directly to the relevant section in Leganto (the page may need to load fully before automatically scrolling to the correct section).
NOTE: Direct links to citations will open in the item detail screen within Leganto.
