Training

The Library provides training for research data management at the University. Whether you are wishing to understand the research data context in the higher education sector, or needing a demonstration of how to complete the ResearchData@ND data management plan, see the Library Classes calendar for available sessions - hint: search data in the search box.

Alternatively, if you require support for complex research data management questions, consider booking a consultation (see below).

Research Data Management consultations

Library research consultations connect researchers to the information and skills needed to support their research. Research consultations provide an extended opportunity for students and staff to have specific research queries answered, locate relevant information tools and develop research strategies tailored to their individual or group needs.

You may benefit from a personalised research consultation if you are:

  • undertaking a complex research project and require assistance with your research data management plan
  • looking for scholarly information related to your research topic or area of research
  • undertaking a systematic review
  • unsure whether you have located all relevant resources
  • wanting assistance to identify and search the Library's specialist databases
  • in need of guidance with search tools and planning your search strategy
  • wanting to build your understanding about researcher identifiers, increasing your visibility and publication management including open access
  • seeking advice about thesis formatting
  • wanting to keep current with the literature and research trends using alerting tools
  • needing help using bibliographic management tools to construct bibliography referencing

Appointments must be booked at least 2 business days in advance due to the preparation required.
