Search alerts overview

Search alerts send an email to you when new literature is published that matches a saved search query.

Tips:

  • Create a search alerts with a well tested search query that is proven to find a relevant list of results.
  • A search alert may be available from the database search results page. Alternatively, it might be necessary to save the search before setting the alert. 
  • You may have to register for a profile before you can set up alerts.

We've included alert service information for some of the popular platforms, but search alerts are for most databases.

Search alerts

FiNDit allows signed-in users to receive email alerts when there is an update to a saved search query, for example when new resources are published.

To set an alert: 

  1. Enter your search terms
  2. Select 'Save Query'

  1. Select turn on notifications for this query

  1. Check your email details are correct

To cancel or modify an alert:

  1. Once signed in, click on your name in the top right hand corner of the screen
  2. Select My Favourites
  3. Select the Saved Searches tab to display all of your search results
  4. Click the Alert Query button that appears next to the search to cancel your alert

Note: alerts that have not had any activity for 90 days are deleted. You should check and renew your alerts every 3 months. 

Search Alerts

  1. Perform a search.
  2. Click on "create alert".
  3. Enter your email address (it doesn't have to be a Gmail account).
  4. Click on "create alert".
