International Open Access Week

International Open Access Week is organised by SPARC (Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition) in partnership with the Open Access Week Advisory Committee.

OA Week 2025 runs from 20-26 October, with the theme Who owns our knowledge? This theme asks a pointed question about the present moment and how, in a time of disruption, communities can reassert control over the knowledge they produce. It also challenges us to reflect on not only who has access to education and research but on how knowledge is created and shared, where it has come from, and whose voices are recognised and valued. See what's happening around the world at International Open Access Week: Events.

Open Access Australasia hosted three online events during the week; recordings of these and previous years' events are available to watch here. You can also see what's on around Australia at OA Week 2025: Events in our region.
