Recommending & Requesting

This service is available to all students and staff.

  • Books and films can be recommended using this form.
  • If you would like to recommend a journal subscription or other resource type, please email your Liaison Librarian.
  • Recommendations will be actioned within the parameters of our budget and Collection Development Guidelines

I want my students to...

Q: Do you already have access to the document (article, book chapter, etc)?

 

A: YES

  1. Upload a copy of the document to the National Drive as per instructions: How do I use eReserve?Thumbnail image of request form
  2. Click on the image to the right.
  3. Tick eReserve from the options at the top of the form.

 

A: NO

  2. Tick both eReserve AND Document Delivery or Interlibrary Loan from the options at the top of the form.

  • Search Summon for the document (article, chapter etc) before returning here and selecting the relevant answer.

 

Q: Have you previously requested this document be made available in Blackboard?

 

A: YES

  • There's no need to submit a new form!
  • Just send a list of the documents you want to continue using in Blackboard to eReserve@nd.edu.au.
  • Include the URLs the Library originally provided or as much information as possible.
  • If the materials are for a new course, include the new course code.

 

A: UNSURE

  • Send a query to eReserve@nd.edu.au providing as much information as possible about the document(s).

Q: Does the Library already have the book in print?

 

A: YES

  • A copy or copies of the book will be purchased.
  • If a suitable eBook is available to purchase, no physical item will be added to closed reserve and you can instead provide students with a direct link to the eBook as soon as it's available.

  • If a suitable eBook is available to purchase, no physical item will be added to closed reserve and you can instead provide students with a direct link to the eBook as soon as it's available.
  • A copy or copies of the book will be purchased in print if no suitable eBook is available.
