Research Consultations

Subject Liaison Librarians are able to help researchers save time and work more efficiently. They can provide advice on how to make the most of the University Library's extensive resources and services and assist you to:

  • effectively navigate the University Library’s electronic and print collections
  • develop successful search strategies to locate the information you require
  • discover the essential databases that you should be using for your research
  • stay current and manage information overload by utilising current awareness and other time-saving technologies
  • efficiently store and retrieve your references using citation management software (EndNote, Refworks)
  • refer you to other information specialists on campus

In addition, the Liaison Librarian for Research is available to provide specialist advice on:

  • maximising the impact of your research by publishing strategically
  • measuring your research impact
  • tracking citations to see ‘who is citing whom?’
  • building your online researcher profile

Researchers can request an individual research consultation by contacting the relevant Liaison Librarian. Research Consultations provide academic staff and graduate students with an opportunity to discuss their research-specific information needs with library professionals. Consultations are tailored to the needs and skill level of individuals.

Research Consultations are by appointment.
