Reading Lists: Guide for Academic Staff

Upgrade to Service

Leganto is getting an upgrade, including significant changes to the interface on Monday 10th June 2024.

This guide will be updated at the same time, and library staff will be available to support your use of this new version of Leganto. Contact information can be found under the Library Help tab.

What is Leganto?

Leganto is the Library's Reading List service for academics and students.

Using Leganto, academic staff can:

  • Create a reading list for each Course in Blackboard
  • Easily add resources including journal articles, open access resources, freely available content and books/eBooks.
  • Re-use a list across study periods
  • See student engagement with resources across reading lists

The role of the Library

  • Process any readings that require mediation (e.g. acquisition of new materials*)
  • Upload scanned book chapters
  • Ensure Copyright compliance for all resources
  • Roll over reading lists at the end of each exam period, in time to prepare for the next study period
  • Provide support through this guide, FAQs, workshops and appointments

* Please note - for items not available in the collection, it is recommended reading lists are submitted 4-6 weeks before the course commences to ensure resources are available to students. For print resources, domestic and international delivery times may vary affecting supply.

If you require assistance using Leganto, or have a question about resources for your text, please see the Library Help tab.
