Reading Lists: Guide for Academic Staff

Last updated: 16/9/22

What is Leganto?

The Library's Reading List service, is used by both Academics and Library staff to manage and process course readings through a web-based service that is integrated with the Library's management system.

The Reading List service, also known as Leganto, allows academics and the library to work together to ensure students are able to easily access their learning materials directly through Blackboard. Using Leganto will allow you to create off-campus links to library resources including books/eBooks, eJournal articles, digitised book chapters, open access resources and freely available content.

This guide instructs you on how to build and use your Reading Lists. There are also FAQs and support materials to assist you further.

When creating a Leganto Reading List, the Library will support you in the following ways:

  • If you are just getting started or need a refresher, we have created this step-by-step guide to lead you through the Reading List set up process, including answers to commonly asked questions, plus our contact details on the Library Help page.
  • If you submit your reading list at least six (6) weeks prior to your teaching term, we will have it ready for the commencement of the required teaching period*.
  • If you have scanned copies of book chapters for inclusion in your reading list, complete the Copyright declaration process, include the title and verso pages and we will process the request for you.
  • If we have any questions for you, we will email you and place the citation or reading list on hold until we hear back from you
  • We will roll your reading list/s over at the end of each exam period to allow time for review before the commencement of the next teaching period
