The following table shows the types of work that fall under Australian Copyright Law and how to use them for educational purposes by 'user type'.

Attribution optional The use of the item may or may not require that the copyright owner be referenced/attributed. Different types of work may require different attributions. Check the terms of use of the item and/or the Referencing Guide regarding the requirements.
Attribution required The use of the item requires that the copyright owner and the source of the item be referenced/attributed in all locations where it has been used.
Can be copied in entirety The Licence for this item allows the full use of the entire item. There will be restrictions on how items can be communicated. Check the Copyright Guide for these requirements.
Check for licence restrictions or terms Copyright owners may have different access terms for specific types of work. Please check for the terms of use or licence restrictions within the item itself or within the site/location that you obtained it from.
Free to use (permission not required) The item has been marked as free to use, royalty-free, public domain, CC0, copyright-free, out of copyright. Permission from the copyright owner is not required to use this item in any form.
